Constitutional Changes

TPI Draft Constitutional Changes

As you are aware our current constitution which was last modified in 2011 required changes to improve operational management, reduce duplication and maintain compliance with new Government legislation.

In our last two editions of Chin Up we have notified members of the proposed changes, posted the complete draft constitution on the TPI website in early February 2015 and allowed three weeks for comments and consultation with our members.

Due to the number of constitutional changes we have received considerable feedback from our members requiring review, discussion and feedback. Unfortunately there is not sufficient time to perform this function adequately and meet our legislative deadline of February 28th.

The TPI committee met on February 25th to consider this issue and has made the decision to not proceed with any constitutional changes at the March 25th 2015 Annual General Meeting.

However, we need to make these changes and will dedicate the next 12 months to ensure adequate time is available to appropriately consult with our members.

This also means that our financial year remains unchanged from January 1st 2015 to December 31st 2015. We have included the 2015 membership form with the autumn edition of Chin Up.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and assure our members that we are always working to achieve the best result for them.

The Victorian Totally and Permanently Incapacitated Ex-Servicemen and Women Association is conveniently located opposite the Royal Women’s Hospital at 23-47 Villiers Street North Melbourne; A short tram ride from Flinders Street Railway Station (No 96 tram).

We are fortunate that the International Red Cross provides the TPI Association accommodation in it’s Victorian State Office.

The Association (founded in 1926) provides welfare assistance to financial members, raises and accepts funds from donors, legacies, trusts, gifts and appeals.
